AARP is currently expanding its research capabilities in order to sustain
our position as a go-to resource for information about the 50+ population.

As part of this expansion, AARP is in the process of launching several new
initiatives, including the development of a multimode (though primarily
online), representative research panel of adults 50 and older.

We are looking for a Research/Survey Statistician to join our team and
provide leadership in the development and implementation of both sampling
and weighting procedures for this panel, as well as provide sampling,
weighting, and analytical expertise across a range of other major research
efforts.

In addition to offering a sincere satisfaction in knowing that your work
is having a direct impact on the lives of millions of Americans through one
of the largest, non-partisan non-profits in the country, it also promises
the opportunity to be part of something new, something big… something
significant. The development of research panels is at the forefront of the
survey research industry, and the development of a representative research
panel, and specifically one focused on the 50+ population, is relatively
uncharted territory. This position promises to play a significant role in
turning AARP’s one-of-a-kind 50+ panel into a reality.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about doing
research, a practitioner who loves discovering “how” to get research done.
We need someone with not only statistical expertise, but also an
understanding of the techniques and procedures that are necessary to
produce important, generalizable research. Ultimately, we are looking for
someone with the skill and experience to provide statistical and
methodological knowledge that will guide many of AARP’s biggest research
endeavors.

If the above sounds appealing, please consider applying for this position.
