*DATA MANAGER / ANALYST*

Ipsos Public Affairs in Chicago, IL has an immediate opening for a Data
Manager / Analyst.

The Data Manager / Analyst will be a member of US Public Affair's Data
Analytics and Applied Sciences (DAAS) group, and be responsible for working
with Ipsos's Omnibus and other research teams to process data files using
IBM SPSS Data Collection / Dimensions software, and develop, deliver, and
QC tabular analyses and reports. The incumbent will also be expected to
work with the Omnibus and other research teams to brainstorm and suggest
changes to existing analyses and reporting, and troubleshoot and resolve
data or analytic issues as necessary. He or she will be expected to
interface directly with internal or external USPA clients on a regular
basis. The incumbent will have secondary responsibility for assembling and
merging sample and population data files (including files from external
sources such as the US Census or other Federal sources), applying or
processing filters and weighting scripts, and general reporting/process
improvement across US Public Affairs.

*Required Skills*

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in marketing, statistics,
engineering, analytics, computer science, a quantitative social science or
related discipline as well as 2- 3 years of experience working directly
with the IBM SPSS Data Collection / Dimensions product suite on a
near-daily basis. Applicants should also have 1-2 years of experience in
project / workflow management. Experience with Visual Basic is strongly
preferred. Experience in statistical graphics, or performing univariate or
bivariate data analyses (binomial tests, tests of association, tests of
differences in means and proportions, correlations) in either SPSS or SAS
would be a plus. Applicants who do not have SAS or SPSS statistical
analysis skills may be required to acquire them on the job.

Personal qualities essential to this position include: initiative,
attention to detail, good verbal communication skills, a practical
orientation to problem-solving, a strong client service orientation, and
the capacity to work under tight or shifting deadlines. While the Data
Manager / Analyst works as part of a team, it is critical that he or she
have the ability to work independently on all tasks front to end. The ideal
candidate for this position would be someone who, in addition to the above
technical and personal qualifications, could grow as a data manager,
statistical analyst, and client consultant as USPA's Omnibus and other
research practices continue to expand.
