Director of Community-driven Research
DataCenter, Oakland, CA

The Director of Community-driven Research will play a pivotal role in
developing DataCenter's program work. DataCenter is engaged in an exciting
collaboration with the goal of developing a model approach to supporting
grassroots organizing in communities of color and poor and low-income
communities. The Director of Community-driven Research will provide
leadership and vision ensuring excellence and continuous innovation in
DataCenter's sole program - Research for Community Power.

The ideal candidate is an experienced researcher who is grounded in social
justice values and immersed in how research is a powerful tool for
movement-building, community organizing, and social change. The Director of
Community-driven Research must have real world experience in applying
community-driven research methods to empower marginalized communities to
define both the problems and the potential solutions for issues impacting
them. The Director of Community-driven Research will thrive in a start-up
environment where creativity and strategic risk-taking are balanced with
focused discipline to build the program.
