*Assistant Director/Applied Research Methodologist*

The University of Northern Iowa’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
invites applications for Assistant Director/Applied Research Methodologist
(tenured or tenure-track) in the Center for Social & Behavioral Research
(CSBR), with a preferred start date of January 2015 (negotiable).  This
position is a full-time academic year joint appointment in the Center for
Social & Behavioral Research and an appropriate academic department within
the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (Applied Human Sciences,
Geography, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, or Sociology,
Anthropology, and Criminology). Applicants should have strong and
demonstrated skills in project management, survey methods, quantitative and
qualitative design and analysis, external funding, and teaching.  Teaching
responsibilities include one course per semester and student advising
commensurate with the effort distribution of the joint appointment. PhD or
equivalent in social science or applied discipline required, with
preference given based on experience in survey research.  Excellent
quantitative and qualitative research methods and skills, active research
agenda, and record of success in securing external funding
required.  Strong organization, communication (written and oral) and
interpersonal skills; at least three years of applied research experience;
and at least one year of supervisory experience also required.  At least
two years of survey research experience or training and supervisory
experience preferred.   Applications received by October 24, 2014 will be
