SURVEY RESEARCHER

Mathematica Policy Research is seeking talented individuals to join a
collaborative team that conducts quantitative and qualitative data
collections to support evaluations. Successful candidates will be
experienced in collecting data to address research questions, have
exceptional communication skills, collaborate effectively, and be
enthusiastic about using their skills to respond to current public policy
challenges and information needs. As a survey researcher, you would join
our staff of survey research professionals, which includes doctoral and
master's-level researchers in survey methodology, behavioral or social
sciences, public policy, and public health.

Duties of the position:
• Design questionnaires and other data collection protocols and conduct
pretests, cognitive interviews, and respondent debriefings on those
protocols • Direct and manage data collection teams, including developing
programming specifications, preparing interviewer training, and
implementation of sample designs and complex data collection procedures •
Prepare proposal text and budgets • Manage data collection budgets and
analyze costs • Perform analyses for methodological studies • Write
professional reports on research activities suitable for publication or
dissemination
Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in survey methods, behavioral sciences, developmental
specialties, social sciences, statistics, or a related field (or an
equivalent combination of education and experience) • Extensive knowledge
of survey research methods (including mail, web, CAPI and CATI) •
Experience in one or more of the following content areas is preferred:
health, mental health, disability, pregnancy prevention, or maternal and
child health. Clinical background or experience with administrative data
linking a plus.
• Experience designing and directing complex data collection efforts,
including qualitative and quantitative methods • Strong management and
business development skills • Exceptional written and verbal communication
skills
