Abt SRBI, the survey research subsidiary of Abt Associates, is a leading
U.S.-based survey research organization. We provide survey data collection,
statistical consulting and analysis to a broad range of government
agencies, university researchers, foundations, the media, and major
corporations. Much of our work is focused on public policy and policy
evaluation in such areas as health policy, epidemiology, education, food
safety, transportation and urban planning, the environment, financial
institutions, and public opinion.

We are currently recruiting an experienced survey sampling and weighting
methodologist to work in our Advanced Methods Group. This position can be
filled immediately due to our rapid business growth and the need to develop
increasingly complex sample designs to meet the challenging needs of our
clients.

*Responsibilities*

   - Work with project directors to develop sample designs, including
   stages of selection, clustering, stratification and allocation to strata
   - Determine appropriate sampling frame(s) (such as the CDSF, landline
   RDD, cell RDD, etc.) and specifications for sample construction
   - Determine sample size based on project needs, anticipated design
   effect, and power requirements
   - Develop and document weighting protocols for complex samples,
   including adjustments for non-coverage and non-response
   - Construct weights as necessary for survey data

ยท         Compute variance estimation using replicate weights when required

   - Prepare methodological reports on sampling and weighting procedures

*Education, Experience, and Skills Required *

   - Three or more years of relevant experience.
   - Master's or doctoral degree in statistics, survey methodology or
   related discipline.
   - working knowledge of SAS, Stata, or other statistical package designed
   for complex surveys.  SAS or Stata is highly preferred.
