Subject: Job opportunity: Research Manager

The Harvard Opinion Research Program at the Harvard School of Public Health
is seeking a Research Manager. The Program's focus is on measuring and
understanding public and leadership opinion in the United States and in
other countries. Core research activities include designing and conducting
original opinion surveys, as well as reviewing and analyzing survey data
collected by other organizations. This work has led to more than 150
publications in the academic literature. Approximately a dozen surveys are
conducted each year leading to both reports and published papers.

The Research Specialist would perform and coordinate a range of research
procedures and projects related to opinion research surveys, with a focus on
project management, data analysis and reporting.  The research specialist
would work as part of a team, although tasks are frequently performed
independently and unsupervised.

Please note: This is a grant funded position scheduled to end on September
30, 2015.

Qualifications: Masters level training in global health, statistics, public
health, health policy, survey research, public policy or relevant social
science preferred.  Need experience in international survey research.  Need
prior experience with SPSS, Stata, SAS or other statistical package.  Strong
written and oral communication skills and computer literacy
(word-processing, database, search engines, presentation/graphics,
spreadsheets).   Must be well-organized with experience, willingness, and
ability to manage multiple survey responsibilities with confidence.  Ability
to work independently and as a member of a team is important.  Individual
must have good writing skills, good organizational skills, and the ability
to work on several projects simultaneously.  Experience conducting research
in developing countries helpful.
