  * Global Health: Science and Practice Journal

Global Health: Science and Practice (GHSP) is published by the U.S. Agency for International
Development, the Knowledge for Health project at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public
Health Center for Communication Programs, and the Department of Global Health at George
Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services. This new peer-reviewed,
open-access journal particularly aims to reach those who implement and otherwise support global
health programs.

Global health programs should be research-driven. GHSP strives to advance knowledge on how
programs are implemented using a clear and concise communication style, and promote what works.
“People implementing programs are busy implementing… and need efficiently packaged and
thought-stimulating literature to meet their needs. So we will aim for a crisp style, one that
lays out key concepts prominently,” explains James Shelton, co-editor-in-chief.

GHSP will be issued four times a year and will include articles on all global health topics,
covering diverse programming models and a wide range of cross-cutting issues that have an
impact on and support health systems.

  * Join the iPOPsAGES network to:
  * Bring together researchers from North and South interested in the issues of ageing and old
     age in countries where the demographic transition is in progress or nearing completion;
  * Give greater visibility to ongoing research projects so that young researchers can
     contribute via their thesis topics;
  * Publicize calls for research projects issued by public or private organizations in areas
     linked to the network's field of interest;
  * Build awareness among research institutions on the scientific importance of issues linked
     to ageing and old age in the South and involve them in the network's activities.

The ipopsAGES network will use the Internet (www.ipops.fr) to present the work of researchers
specialized in this field.  It aims to achieve the broadest possible geographical coverage as a
means to develop cooperation between researchers and institutions in different countries.

The network will also serve to promote and coordinate research. Thematic seminars will be
organized with the aim of fostering new research projects that will culminate in future
international conferences and collaborative research projects.
