Mathematica is a nationally recognized research organization that conducts social
policy studies on health care, disability, education, welfare, nutrition, and

We currently have an opening for a systems analyst to help us grow our information
services team in the Cambridge office. As a systems analyst, you will be part of
our fast-growing information services team comprised of over 50 technical and
management staff at Mathematica, and will help establish and grow our presence in
the Cambridge, MA office.

The systems analyst position focuses on directing systems
design and development of a large, complex website. The successful candidate will
work closely with our survey staff, under the direction of our Princeton, NJ
headquarters, to provide vision for developing and implementing web based systems
that deliver cost and business effectiveness and quality within MPR's unique
environment.

Duties of the position:

Defines specifications and systems requirements in the areas of sample processing
and tracking, data collection, file creation, and data reporting.
Designs and implements relational databases and applications supporting our survey
and data collection efforts.
Develops programming assignments and implements these specifications or oversees
the implementation by more junior staff. Responds to and assists others in
responding to requests for proposals as they pertain to systems work.



Qualifications:

Strong technical skills in the analysis and design of computer systems, including
extensive hands on experience with a variety of computer operating environments and
computer languages, including but not limited to, ASP.Net 2.0, VB.Net, C#,
JavaScript, XML, SQL Server, Access, HTML5 and JQuery.
Experience with the Google Search Appliance and AJAX or SharePoint development and
administration a plus.
Experience as a Project Manager a plus.
Experience working in the market research or data collection industry a plus.
Experience in the analysis and design of computer systems and written specification
and documentation preferred.
Accuracy with work, strong organization skills, attention to detail and ability to
multi-task.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
MS degree in computer science or a related discipline, or
7 or more years of related experience.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.

Various federal agencies with whom we contract require that staff successfully
undergo a background investigation or security clearance as a condition of working
on the project. If you are assigned to such a project, you will be required to
obtain the requisite security clearance.
