http://www.ssri.psu.edu/survey) is seeking qualified applicants for a
Research Associate position to assist in the development, support, and
growth of a portfolio of research projects within the Dynamic Real-time
Ecological Ambulatory Methodologies (DREAM) program. The DREAM program
promotes the use of emerging technologies (e.g., smartphones, micro-sensors)
for "in-vivo" data collection (e.g., Ecological Momentary Assessment [EMA]
approaches) for studies of human behavior, health, and development (
<http://www.ssri.psu.edu/survey/research-services/dream>
http://www.ssri.psu.edu/survey/research-services/dream). Successful
applicants will work within an interdisciplinary team to: (a) assist
investigators with developing and implementing studies using DREAM methods,
(b) work with a staff of program directors, project managers, programmers,
and budget consultants to coordinate and oversee project implementation
(including technology development, data collection, and administrative
tasks), and (c) develop DREAM-related research proposals, papers, and
publications, both independently and collaboratively with Penn State
faculty.

Applicants must have a PhD in a social science discipline (e.g., psychology,
sociology) or other related field (e.g., computer science), although
exceptional ABD candidates will be considered. We seek applicants who have
experience with designing and/or conducting human subject research.
Experience in EMA research, ambulatory physiological assessment, mobile
technology, survey methodology, analytic methods for intensive repeated
measures, or other related topics is highly desirable. Excellent written and
oral communication and interpersonal skills are required. The position
offers competitive salary and benefits. The initial appointment will be for
one year, with an excellent possibility for continued renewal.

Interested applicants should send: (1) a letter of application describing
relevant experience, career goals, and research interests; (2) a curriculum
vita; and (3) names of three professional references to Tracy Scala at
tls27 at psu.edu. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue
until 7/15/13 or until the position is filled. For more information, contact
Dr. Kristin Heron, keh16 at psu.edu, or Dr. Joshua Smyth, jms1187 at psu.edu.
