*Family change in industrialized countries (quantitative researcher)*

The Centre for Population Change at the University of Southampton is
looking to recruit a researcher with interests in demographic change and
patterns of family formation. The project will explore changes in the
family in Europe, Australia, and the U.S., with a specific focus on the
intersection between childbearing and union formation behaviour.

Working under the direction of Dr. Brienna Perelli-Harris, who has been
awarded a European Research Council starting grant, you will undertake
research on family change in cross-national perspective analysing complex
survey data from surveys across Europe and the U.S., such as the
Generations and Gender Surveys or SHARE.

You will have a postgraduate degree in a quantitative social science and
experience with advanced quantitative methods, excellent knowledge and
solid practical experience in the use of SAS, STATA, or a similar software
program and good written and oral communication skills.


The position is tenable from 1 September 2013 or as soon as possible
thereafter.
