Full-time

We invite applications to work on a project on *Family Changes among
Immigrants and their Descendants*. This is part of an EU funded project
on /Changing Families and Sustainable Societies: Policy Contexts and
Diversity over the Life Course and across Generations/. The aim of the
four-year project is to investigate the diversity of family forms,
relationships and life courses in European countries, to assess the
compatibility of existing policies with family changes, and to
contribute to evidence-based policy-making. The Liverpool team will
co-lead research stream on family trajectories among immigrants and
ethnic minorities and will also contribute to research in other areas.

You will work in close collaboration with Dr. Hill Kulu. You will
investigate family and fertility changes among immigrants and ethnic
minorities in the UK, will contribute to comparative studies of European
countries and will prepare research results for publication in
international social science journals. You will have a PhD in a social
science discipline (including statistics), experience in handling
longitudinal data and conducting event history analysis. Good
communication and management skills are essential. This is an excellent
opportunity for an enthusiastic quantitative social researcher to work
in an international team of researchers on a highly policy-relevant
topic. The post is available from 1st May 2013 for 18 months with
possibility of extension for a further 18 months.
