Faculty opening in Population Aging



The Department of Demography at the Universite de Montreal, one of the top
university-based population research and training centers in the French-speaking
world, is seeking applicants for a faculty opening at the assistant professor
(tenure-track) or tenured associate professor (mid-career) levels in the area of
population aging.

Could I ask you to please disseminate them widely through your professional networks
and encourage anyone you believe to be an excellent candidate to apply for the job?



For your information, eligible candidates may have PhDs in demography, economics,
sociology, public health or other related disciplines.  The new professor should
specialize in general area of population aging.  He or she will be expected to teach
various courses in the Demography Department, and so having at least a basic
knowledge of the theories and methods of demography would be useful.  It is also
worth noting that the Universite de Montreal operates in French, meaning that the
new hire should at least be willing to make a serious effort to rapidly become
fluent in French.
