There is a terrific opportunity open at the US Census Bureau, but only until Monday,
December 3, 2012!

The Assistant Division Chief for Survey Design and Estimation position is open.
Many have called this the "best mathematical statistician GS 15 position" at the
Census Bureau. We are looking for someone who is creative, open to change and
believes in customer service as a guiding principle. They also have to be a
talented math stat!

The Demographic Statistical Methods Division is an active participant in redesigning
the way the Census Bureau operates to provide better service for our sponsors. We
have undertaken a restructuring of the division to meet the needs of the bureau's
new Survey Director and Survey Team overall structure. Exciting things are
happening and we are in the middle of them. Staff are excited about new
opportunities to gain broader experience and have more targeted training. The
incumbent of the ADC position will be very involved in making this new adventure as
successful as possible.

Overall responsibilities include directing the mathematical/statistical work for all
of the current surveys such as the Current Population Survey, Consumer Expenditure
Surveys -- which are undergoing a major redesign--, the American Housing Survey, The
National Health Interview Survey, The National Crime Victimization Survey, multiple
Education surveys, the National Survey of College Graduates, the Survey of Income
and Program Participation, and many others. The division has a very diverse and
creative staff who are eager to take on new challenges to establish and maintain
higher quality work.

This is a GS15 position (salary $123,758 - $155,500) located in the Washington, DC
metro area. US Citizenship is required.
Links are provided for the merit application (current government employees and those
