practical and scientific advice, technical and program support, consensus
building and lesson-sharing to countries and non-state organizations. The
Global Health Group works closely with a wide range of public and private
partners, both in-country and internationally, to accomplish its work.

The PSHi Program Analyst will work closely with the PSHi Lead and Program
Manager to conduct background research and provide complex logistics
coordination to multiple programmatic and operational research projects
across the PSHi portfolio. Responsibilities will range from managing
logistics for high profile meetings and large (250+ person) conferences held
around the world, to preparing workplans and timelines to facilitate
coordination across the teams, to conducting desk and literature research to
inform research projects, presentations and grant proposals. The Program
Analyst must have excellent time management skills, and be flexible and be
able to adjust to new projects and priorities as they arise. The incumbent
will also perform other duties as assigned.

Note: This is a full time, fully grant-funded position, funded through at
least December 2014.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor degree (BA/BS) or equivalent.
• Experience managing complex projects, involving multiple deadlines and
stakeholders/decision-makers. Experience developing and implementing project
workplans and strategies, and working within project budgets.
• Experience designing, planning and managing logistics for large, high
profile events (meetings, conferences ranging from 50-250 people);
experience planning meetings held in cities outside the US, particularly in
developing countries, strongly preferred.
• Experience developing systems and procedures to support planning and
implementation.
• Experience tracking project expenditures, and/or purchasing/expending
funds within set budgets.
• Excellent organizational and logistics management skills.
• Significant attention to detail; ability to hold self and others to high
standards.
• Ability to work in fast-paced, flexible and ambiguous conditions, handle
multiple tasks and details simultaneously, and exercise sound timely
judgment and take relevant responsible action as required; ability to get up
to speed quickly.

studies examining private sector health delivery models in Myanmar.
Activities will include providing input to study design and planning,
management of data collection in the field, and analysis and preparing of
results for publication and dissemination. This position will involve
extensive travel to field sites to conduct qualitative research and work
with partners to ensure smooth implementation of the research activities.
The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

Note: This is a full time, grant-funded contract position starting January
2013, funded through at least December 2014. Continuation will be subject to
need and receipt of longer-term funding. Travel of up to 40% will be
required (trips ranging from 2 weeks to 2-3 months).
Required Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in public health, international studies, economics or
related field
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an academic or NGO setting on
public health
• Experience working with a range of government, NGO and academic partners
in developing countries
• Experience conducting qualitative field research and data collection in
developing countries, and preparing results for academic publication.

The PSHi Project Officer (Analyst IV) serves as the programmatic lead and
focal point, externally and internally, for the PSHi's portfolio of work on
social franchising. This role includes leading the PSHi's efforts to
document and disseminate information on social franchises worldwide
(including leading development and publication under the Clinical Social
Franchising Case Study Series; leading data collection, compilation and
publication of the annual Compendium of Clinical Social Franchises);
overseeing the continuous evolution and development of the SF4Health.org
website and online community of practice (including quality and metrics
workstreams); and spearheading planning and organization of large, annual,
international meetings of franchise organizations around the world.
Additional duties include co-authoring peer-reviewed articles and other
collateral materials on social franchising and the role of the private
sector for health system strengthening more generally, and providing
technical input to related PSHi research involving social franchises,
including the PSHi’s three-year operations research collaboration with
Population Services International on its social franchise in Myanmar.

The Project Officer is responsible for setting out and continually refining
the strategic vision for the PSHi social franchising work stream, to
encourage innovation, and ensure that new developments and policy
implications are effectively documented and disseminated. S/he is
responsible for ensuring the high quality and timely completion of all
projects and deliverables. S/he is responsible for liaising and developing
strategic relationships with franchise implementers, stakeholder
organizations and donors, to foster communication and lead to future
opportunities for research and partnership. S/he is called on to manage
other PSHi projects on private sector issues around health systems
strengthening as needed, ranging from contributing to related research
projects, to soliciting grant/contract funding and interacting with current
and potential donors. The incumbent will also perform other duties as
assigned.

Note: This is a full-time, benefitted, grant-funded position, currently
funded for at least two years from date of hire. Continuation is subject to
receipt of ongoing funding. Periodic travel for 1-3 weeks for conferences,
or to conduct case studies, will be required.
Required Qualifications
• BA/BS with a major in a related field and four years of experience in
administrative analysis or operations research; or an equivalent combination
of education and experience; a minimum of four years experience (at
increasing levels) conducting and managing global health projects, analysis,
research and/or program operations.
• Experience working with a wide range of government, non-government
organization (NGO) and academic partners in developing countries.
• Experience developing and carrying out in-depth qualitative and
qualitative research (including case studies and surveys) in developing
countries, and/or with developing country partners.
• Experience leading or project managing large projects (including
non-clinical research studies, events and conferences, or long-term
programmatic research projects.
• Experience writing and publishing in a variety of media, including
peer-reviewed publications, reports, case studies, grant proposals,
presentations and web content.
• Significant time in, travel and work throughout developing countries in
Asia, Africa and South America.
• In-depth knowledge of the private healthcare delivery sector in developing
countries, particularly social franchises and/or other platforms that engage
individual for-profit providers. Strong understanding of current global
