Postdoctoral Early Career Fellows: 2 posts

Grade 7: salary range £29,249 - £35,938 p.a.

The Department of Sociology is offering two postdoctoral Early Career
Fellowships to support promising young scholars to develop their research
and publication profile.

The main duties of the posts are to be active in research and publication,
with supervision responsibilities for one or two MSc students. There will be
the opportunity to offer teaching on an optional paper for the MSc / MPhil
course.

Applicants must have a PhD, or expect to gain a PhD within three months of
the date of application, in any area of Sociology. They should be able to
demonstrate the potential for world-class research and publication in
sociology, and should have published at least one article in a major
sociology journal or a book with a leading academic publisher.

Both posts are full time, on a fixed-term contract of 23 months duration,
commencing 1 October 2012.
