>> The Labor Human Services and Population Center is looking for a Research Associate to conduct policy-relevant studies on vulnerable children, youth, and families and the role of services and policies to support their well-being, including analyses of welfare program participation, child care and other early child development programs, foster care, work force development, food insecurity, poverty, asset building, and immigration.

>> Responsibilities include conducting empirical studies, synthesizing research literature, analyzing federal and state regulations, developing research protocols, participating in         site visits and data collection activities, quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis, and writing and presenting reports orally to academic and policy audiences. Candidate may also be asked to manage research projects to help senior researchers ensure tasks are completed on-time and within budget.

>> Qualifications:

>> M.A. degree in demography, developmental psychology, economics, public health, public policy, social work, sociology, or related social science field, or the academic knowledge of and research experience in a discipline that is generally associated with the attainment of the M.A. The ideal candidate will have both quantitative skills and experience conducting focus groups and interviews. Demonstration of the ability to conduct policy-relevant empirical analyses and to present material to lay audiences in writing and orally. Ability to think strategically about research agenda, ability to interact with staff at all levels, and to work both independently and on team projects.
