Postdoctoral Fellowship in Child Health Services Research

The Institute for Child Health Policy (ICHP) and the Department of Health
Outcomes and Policy in the University of Florida College of Medicine seeks
applications for a Fellowship in Child Health Services Research with an
emphasis on health disparities and quality of care in public insurance
programs. This position provides great opportunities for collaborations with
ICHP and department faculty with expertise in health policy and program
evaluation, epidemiology, health behavior, and complex community
interventions. This Fellowship provides hands-on evaluation research
experience with mentors focusing on preparation of policy issue briefs,
grant writing, conference presentations, and publications in peer-reviewed
journals.

This two-year position trains recent doctorates and more experienced
doctorates wanting to change their research focus. Individuals with doctoral
degrees in Public Health, Epidemiology, Psychology, Sociology, Health
Behavior, Applied Statistics, or a related area are encouraged to apply.
Applicants should have excellent academic credentials and be interested in,
and have some experience with public health, health policy and evaluation,
or health disparities research in low-income populations. Strength in
quantitative methods, use of statistical software packages (e.g., SAS,
STATA, and/or Mplus), and writing are required. Applicants must be U.S.
citizens or permanent residents. A $50,000 to $65,000 stipend is available
depending on training and experience. Additional allowances for
research-related travel are included.
