From wachter at demog.berkeley.edu Tue Mar 14 17:02:24 2017 From: wachter at demog.berkeley.edu (Ken Wachter) Date: Tue, 14 Mar 2017 17:02:24 -0700 (PDT) Subject: [Cohort37] Luncheon; Prelim and Curriculum Discussion Message-ID: Dear Kirsten, Pei, Rachel, Denys, As you know, the blizzard in Boston has forced our Brown Bag speaker to cancel for tomorrow. I am proposing that you all and I use this time that has opened up to have a talk about the material for the Prelims and the Curriculum in general -- what you have found most useful and interesting and what you would like to see covered most on the exams. Josh has generously offered that the Department (or Population Center) would pay for a lunch for us all at the Women's Faculty Club, since he won't be taking the speaker out to lunch. We have a visiting prospective Master's student for next year, Hyunwook Park, visiting from Korea, and I would include him in the lunch. I think it would be very useful to him to hear what you have found most interesting in the curriculum and to get a sense of how your year has gone. Monique is confirming a reservation now at the Women's Faculty Club for noon tomorrow (Wednesday). I hope you can come. Best wishes.
