Dear Berkeley Community,

Please see below some additional information regarding Adam Anderson's
Wednesday presentation, "Three Centuries of Comparative Demographic
Analysis of Ancient Social Networks":

This talk will include an interactive workshop section about halfway
through the hour.

Using open source software, Gephi (gephi.org), we will explore a Middle
Bronze Age trade network, derived from the textual archives of Drehem, Iraq
(ancient Puzriš-Dagan) dating from 2100 to 2000 B.C.E. Concepts covered in
the workshop portion include: directed networks, eigenvectors & eigenvalues
(leaders, hubs & authorities), chronological filtering, using
geo-coordinates in multi-modal networks.

Anyone who wants to participate should download Gephi (gephi.org).

Thank you, see you Wednesday.

Monique
