Dear Demography Brown Bag Community,

Please find below the abstract for this Wednesday's Demography Brown Bag
Presentation on October 25, 2017.

Steven Orzack presents, "Human Health and Disease: Dynamics, Statics, and
the Compression of Morbidity."

Important aspects of the biology of aging resist explanation by present
concepts and approaches in demography, gerontology, and evolutionary
biology. Using new approaches, I will present analyses of the relationship
between cholesterol and mortality and of the relationship between age and
morbidity. I will focus on the interplay between static and dynamic
analyses and suggest that both are necessary for proper understanding of
the biology of aging.
